While it might have a history built on sin, the city is increasingly rebuilt for meetings. More than 3 million square feet of new event space is slated to debut in the next five years. Out of the 42.5 million visitors welcomed last year, a record-breaking 6.6 million of those were meeting or convention attendees.

The 1.4 million-square-foot expansion of the Las Vegas Convention Center is on pace to be completed in December, in time for the massive Consumer Electronics Show the following month. The new West Hall, the cornerstone of the $1.52 billion project, will provide an additional 600,000 square feet of column-free exhibit space. After the expansion is up and running, the entire existing facility will be renovated from the summer of 2021 through 2024 in a phased approach, so as not to disrupt any business.

Resorts World Las Vegas, the $4.3 billion megaresort being constructed on the North Strip on the site of the failed Boyd Echelon project, has partnered with Hilton to brand the resort's hotels. The 3,500 hotel rooms on-site will be spread between three properties -- Hilton Hotels, Conrad and LXR, respectively. The project, which is set to debut in the summer of 2021, is Hilton's largest multibrand deal to date and the first time those three brands will appear alongside one another. The resort properties will all be part of the Hilton Honors loyalty program and will offer the benefits typically associated with that, such as direct-book member discounts, Digital Key via the mobile app and more. Among the resort's planned facilities will be a 5,000-seat theater, 350,000 square feet of meeting space, a 220,000-square-foot pool complex, a spa and fitness center, and an extensive array of restaurants and bars.
